There's only one application that might be using my credentials, let me go check that out.Post your SCCM tips and tricks, requests for help, or links others might find useful! Post not showing up? That would immediately rule out all hardware and RDP settings as being the cause. I hadn't even thought of logging in with a different user as a test. It disconnects like there is an END SESSION time limit, the connection ends, the session is closed (nothing remains open on the server). A single server acts as the RDP Gateway handling all RDS functions. Clients I have tested from are all Win 10, build 18. Since no one else is having these issues, it can't be on the other end either. I ruled that out since I have initiated the RDP connections from 3 separate computers and networks so far, and the drops remain the same, so it's highly unlikely an issue on my/client end. I'm sure there's something hiding in there. I'll try to dig into this today and see if there are any logs that are useful. COVID hit us hard, so I am the last SysAdmin remaining at this company now, down from 3, so things I really appreciate the ideas. Thanks for the responses, I missed the notifications somehow. :(Īny thoughts? Anything useful I might gather from the event viewer? This really interfered with my ability to work today, I would be incredibly grateful if we can get this figured out. I'm literally out of ideas at this point and it's giving me a headache.

  • (on Gateway) Local Group Policy > Computer Configuration > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Session Time Limits.
  • I'm giving this the benefit of the doubt for now, but this started happening after my team had a verbal altercation with another team that also has admin access to that network and all its servers, so please do not rule out any possibilities of an intentional cause.ĭomain Admin RD Cap is set to idle timeout 15 minutes, session timeout 30 minutes. 4 open test sessions, I stayed active in all 4, all 4 disconnected after 8 minutes (and the sessions were killed as before).
  • I use Royal TS to manage most of my mstsc connections, so I figured maybe it's bonkers and did some straight RDP connections via native RDP instead, same behavior.
  • The FROM machine seems to be irrelevant, I've tried the remote connections from 3 separate machines, the issue does not change.
  • No other user seems to have this issue, so it may be user specific only to me.
  • All connections to this site seem to be dropping simultaneously (I opened rdp connections to multiple servers as a test, they all closed the session at the same time).
  • Connection disconnects and closes the session seemingly at random intervals, seems to be between 2 and 15 minutes.
  • We connect via an RDP Gateway and it's a direct connection, no VPN or similar involved. I've also been disconnected as quickly as 2 minutes into getting connected, so it doesn't even appear to be a set time period specifically (or of course there's more than one thing going on). I didn't think much of it at the time since we do have timeouts set, but this week I realized the logoffs do not match the timeout periods that I know about, the logoffs instantly kill the entire session, and the logoffs happen regardless of I'm idle or actively doing something. A couple of months ago I began noticing that my terminal services/rdp connections to one of our networks will drop, seemingly randomly. I have an issue that's been frustrating me.
